This project was created together with the artist Merlin Rainer after a two weeks residency at the gallery KUB in Leipzig. The project functioned as a physical repository for the "trash" of the digital age : the fleeting memes, viral fragments, and disposable content that defined the endless scroll of social media. We collected these digital leftovers and translated them into a handmade archive, giving a tactile, permanent form to the most ephemeral parts of the internet.
By manually recreating these "low-culture" moments, we sought to arrest the frantic speed of the feed. The archive documented the visual language of a generation : the absurdist humor, the saturated aesthetics, and the collective memory of the screen. What was once scrolled past in a second became a carton made playground exhibition space. TV screens and fake smartphones were displaying hand animated compilations of these memories we wanted to trash away.
